As General Manager, Land Development & Capital Assets, you will provide leadership across multiple entities and projects, helping ensure opportunities are effectively evaluated, resources are aligned with priorities, and initiatives are successfully delivered. Reporting to the CEO, you will oversee business performance, project delivery, operational effectiveness, and strategic growth across development, construction, property management, and joint venture activities. This role is ideal for an experienced leader who can balance long-term vision with day-to-day execution while building the people, systems, and relationships needed to support sustainable growth and lasting value.

Title: General Manager, Land Development & Capital Assets
Department: Lílwat Development Services / Lílwat Construction Enterprises/ Lil’wat Capital Assets
Status: Full-Time , Permanent
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
Summary of Duties:
The General Manager, Land Development & Capital Assets is responsible for providing leadership, direction, management, and support for the planning, development, construction, property management, and administration activities of Lílwat Development Services, Lílwat Construction Enterprises, Lílwat Capital Assets, and associated joint venture activities.
The General Manager is accountable for business performance, project outcomes, strategic direction, resource allocation, and decision-making across development, construction, property management, and partnership activities.
The role ensures opportunities are effectively evaluated, priorities are established, resources are appropriately allocated, and projects are successfully delivered in support of organizational objectives.
The General Manager ensures appropriate workforce, operational, financial, and management systems are in place to support sustainable growth and successful project delivery across all entities.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
- Provides leadership to the development and operating affairs of Lílwat Development Services, Lílwat Construction Enterprises, Lílwat Capital Assets, and associated joint venture activities.
- Oversees development, construction, property management, and partnership activities.
- Evaluates project opportunities, development initiatives, partnerships, bids, and investments.
- Establishes business priorities and allocates resources to support organizational objectives.
- Develops and maintains relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, regulators, funding agencies, investors, and joint venture partners.
- Leads negotiations related to contracts, partnerships, and significant business opportunities.
- Ensures effective coordination between development, pre-construction, construction, property management, and partnership activities.
- Develops, implements, and monitors budgets, business plans, and annual operating plans.
- Oversees managers and evaluates performance,
including the development and administration of employee development plans.
- Ensures workforce, operational, financial, and management systems support organizational requirements.
- Identifies and manages operational, financial, contractual, strategic, and reputational risks.
- Ensures compliance with applicable legislation, corporate policies, permits, contracts, and health and safety requirements.
- Completes regular reporting for the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors.
- Assists in the development of policies and programs (e.g., financial, operational, workforce, and health and safety).
- Performs other duties as requested.
Experience and Attributes:
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in construction, development, infrastructure, property management, or related industries.
- Five (5) or more years of senior leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects, partnerships, and business operations.
- Strong financial, operational, and strategic management skills.
- Experience negotiating contracts and managing external relationships.
- Construction and development experience within a First Nations organization is an asset.
- Commitment to leading and developing personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt in a flexible and rapid-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
- Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation, and interaction with clients, Members, and partners.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required.
- Cleared Criminal Record Check.
