What you’ll do
- Manage geotechnical work from proposal through completion, including scope, budget, schedule, billing, and client communication.
- Coordinate field investigations and laboratory testing.
- Perform and review analyses involving slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, liquefaction, pavements, and shallow and deep foundations.
- Design foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and ground improvement solutions.
- Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, recommendations, proposals, and cost estimates.
- Identify geotechnical risks and recommend practical ways to address them.
- Provide construction support through site visits, reviews, and technical guidance.
- Mentor junior staff and collaborate with our civil, structural, and environmental teams.
- Build client relationships and support business development.
What you bring
- A university degree in geotechnical engineering, geological engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- At least five years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence in Ontario.
- Experience with geotechnical design and analysis for foundations, settlement, slopes, retaining structures, pavements, and construction projects.
- Working knowledge of applicable Ontario standards, regulations, and guidelines.
- Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports, proposals, cost estimates, and client correspondence.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant geotechnical engineering software.
- Strong organization, initiative, and the ability to communicate clearly with clients and project teams.
Experience with Phase I or II environmental site assessments, Ontario Regulation 406/19 (Excess Soil), or hydrogeological assessments is an asset.
