Independent Contract Hair Stylist

Albright Manor Long-Term Care Home

Albright Manor, a 232 bed non-profit charitable Long Term Care Home, is seeking a friendly, reliable and experienced Independent Contract Hair Stylist to provide on-site hairdressing services to our residents. This is an excellent opportunity for a stylist who enjoys working independently and has a genuine interest in supporting older adults to look and feel their best.

Position Details

- Independent Contractor
- Opportunity to provide services up to 5 days per week
- Salon operating hours may be scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- Services are provided from Albright Manor’s in office resident hair salon
- Contractor is responsible for managing their own schedule and resident appointments

Responsibilities The Independent Contract Hair Stylist will:

- Provide professional hairdressing services to residents, including cuts, styling, colouring, perms and other agreed-upon salon services
- Independently schedule, organize and manage resident appointments
- Assist residents to and from their appointments as required
- Purchase and maintain the salon products, supplies and equipment required to provide services
- Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming salon environment
- Follow appropriate infection prevention and control practices
- Maintain accurate records of services provided and applicable resident charges
- Work collaboratively with Albright Manor staff to support residents' individual needs, preferences and safety
- Ensure residents requiring supervision are not left unattended in the salon




- Complete required Albright Manor orientation, education and applicable policies and procedures

Requirements The successful contractor will be required to provide and/or complete:

- Appropriate hair styling/hairdressing qualifications and applicable certification
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance
- Current 2 Step TB testing
- Proof of appropriate liability and business insurance
- Completion of all mandatory education and training required by Albright Manor and aligned with Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC) standards
- Participate in Public Health Inspections
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage appointments and day-to-day salon operations
- Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, patient and respectful approach when supporting older adults
- Experience working with seniors or in a long-term care environment is considered an asset

About the Opportunity The Hair Stylist operates as an independent service provider rather than an employee of Albright Manor. The successful contractor will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of their services, including appointment scheduling and purchasing necessary salon products and supplies.
