Overview The Georgian Bay Applekings Senior AA Hockey Club is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Coach to lead the team both on and off the ice. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all levels of team operations, including player recruitment, skill development, practice planning, team systems, game management, and creating a positive team culture.

Working closely with the Executive, General Manager, and team staff, the Head Coach will play a key role in building a competitive and community-focused hockey program.

Responsibilities

- Identify, evaluate, and recruit players capable of competing at the Senior AA level.
- Develop and maintain a positive team culture that promotes accountability, success, teamwork, and community involvement.
- Plan and conduct all team practices, camps, tryouts, and game-day coaching activities.
- Design and implement practice plans that reinforce team systems & development
- Monitor and promote player and team progression throughout the season.
- Maintain team standards and discipline both on and off the ice.
- Represent the Applekings organization in a professional manner within the community.
- Assist in recruiting,



managing, and mentoring Assistant Coaches, Trainers, and other team personnel.
- Collaborate with the Executive and General Manager on season planning and organizational initiatives.

Qualifications

- Preferred candidates will possess one or more of the following:
- Junior, Senior, Collegiate, or Skilled playing and/or coaching experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, mentorship, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of hockey systems, strategy, and player development.
- Previous experience managing teams, staff, or high-performance environments is considered an assetQualifications

Qualifications

- The successful candidate must possess or obtain the following prior to participating in team activities:
- Hockey Canada Development 1 (D1) Coaching Certification
- Respect in Sport (Activity Leader Program)
- Gender Identity and Expression Training (OHF)
- Rowan's Law Concussion Awareness Training
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check

Pay: Up to $1,000.00 per year
