StayCare Alberta Homecare Services is seeking a compassionate, dependable and qualified male Health Care Aide to provide full-time care to a client in their private residence.
This position supports a male client with personal and intimate care needs. A male caregiver is required as a bona fide occupational requirement to protect the client’s privacy, comfort and dignity. Ability to understand and communicate in Punjabi/ Hindi/ Urdu is required to communicate effectively with the client about care needs, preferences and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting
- Support mobility, transfers and safe positioning
- Provide medication reminders according to the care plan
- Assist with eating and hydration
- Offer companionship and meaningful activities
- Complete light housekeeping related to the client’s care
- Observe and report changes in the client’s condition
- Complete accurate care documentation
- Follow the client’s care plan and StayCare policies
Qualifications
- Recognized Health Care Aide certificate or equivalent
- Ability to understand and communicate in Punjabi/ Hindi/ Urdu is required
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Dependable, respectful and able to work independently
- Previous home-care experience is an asset
