Housekeeper — Part-Time / On-Call

About the role

Cape Carraholly Retreat is looking for reliable, detail-oriented housekeeping staff to prepare our guest accommodations between stays.

Our waterfront retreat includes cabins, yurts, and a dome in a forested setting. Housekeeping includes both indoor spaces and outdoor facilities, such as yurt kitchens, showers, separate bathrooms, and decks. Applicants should be comfortable working outdoors and walking between accommodations on uneven paths.

Schedule options

Part-time: Approximately 3–4 days on, followed by 3–4 days off. Accommodations can be provided during working days. Full-time accommodations are not available.

On-call: We will notify you when shifts are available, and you can pick them up based on your availability. This option is suited to someone looking for flexible, occasional work.

Daytime availability is required as most shifts will be scheduled between 10am and 4pm.

Duties and responsibilities

- Complete accommodation turnovers within the time between guest checkout and arrival.
- Strip and remake beds, checking linens for stains or damage.
- Wash, dry, fold, and organize bedding and towels.
- Dust, vacuum, mop, and clean furniture and frequently touched surfaces.
- Clean cabin kitchens and indoor and outdoor yurt kitchenettes, including dishes, sinks, counters, appliances, and cooking areas.
- Clean toilets, sinks, indoor and outdoor showers, and separate bathroom facilities,



including bathrooms shared by designated yurts.
- Sweep decks and tidy outdoor seating areas.
- Remove garbage and recycling and replace bags.
- Replenish toiletries and guest supplies.
- Check accommodations for cleanliness, presentation, and forgotten items.
- Report maintenance concerns, damage, and supply shortages to management.

Qualifications
- Cleaning or housekeeping experience is an asset; training can be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and good time-management skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow cleaning instructions.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team.
- Able to perform physical housekeeping duties, including bending, carrying supplies and laundry, and walking on uneven terrain.
- Comfortable cleaning outdoor facilities in varying weather conditions.

Transportation and accommodations Boat transportation is included from Rocky Point in Port Moody, conveniently located near Moody Centre Station for transit access.

For on-call shifts, pickup at Rocky Point is at 10:15 a.m., and the return boat departs the retreat at 3:45 p.m. Applicants must be able to meet these shuttle times.

Accommodations may be provided for part-time staff during their scheduled working days only.

All tools, cleaning equipment, and supplies are provided.
