B. Edwards Transfer Ltd is looking for a Hydro Vac Operator to join our growing team.
We provide catch-basin cleaning, hydro excavation, sewer flushing, and daylighting.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The Employee’s duties shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Operating high-pressure water and vacuum systems to conduct hydro excavation, uncover underground utilities, flush sanitary and storm systems, and perform catch basin cleaning.
- Operating and maintaining hydro vac equipment in a variety of working environments, including confined spaces.
- Utilizing remote hoses and related equipment to access and perform work in hard-to-reach or restricted areas.
- Performing additional services as required, including but not limited to mini flushing, push camera inspections, mandrel testing, and air testing.
- Driving hydro vac trucks as required (estimated at 15–20% of total working time), with the understanding that the majority of duties are performed outside the vehicle; however, for certain assignments, including catch basin cleaning, driving and operating the truck may constitute up to 80% of the workday.
- Inspecting catch basins for defects and maintaining accurate counts by structure or lid, as required.
- Communicating in a professional and effective manner with customers, supervisors, and dispatch personnel.
- Using standardized hand signals and serving as a second set of eyes to assist labourers working near hydro lines or operating hydraulic booms, ensuring safety for all personnel.
- Dumping and disposing of debris and ensuring all equipment and vehicles are properly cleaned,
maintained, and in valuable working order.
- Lifting, carrying, and handling equipment, hoses, tools, and personal protective equipment, with a minimum lifting requirement of 50 pounds.
- Preparing and securing work areas, including implementing traffic control measures and identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
- Attending and successfully completing all required safety training and certifications.
- Conducting routine inspections and performing minor maintenance and mechanical checks on hydro vac equipment.
- Accurately completing, submitting, and maintaining all required company and customer documentation, including job reports and billing records.
- Providing services in accordance with client specifications and company quality standards.
- Ensuring the safety of all personnel, the public, and property at all times.
- Working cooperatively as part of a team.
- Maintaining job sites in a clean, safe, and orderly condition, and leaving each site in a condition equal to or better than that in which it was found.
Additional Requirements and Conditions of Employment:
- The Employee must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance.
- The Employee must be willing and able to work overtime, participate in a rotational on-call schedule, and work outside of standard Monday to Friday hours as required.
- The Employee may be required to travel and work away from home on an occasional basis.
- The Employee must be proficient in the use of iPads and related technology for the purposes of data entry, reporting, and job tracking.
- Maintain Valid Class DZ license required.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $32.00-$36.00 per hour
