Enhance community health as an Indigenous Prenatal Nutrition Specialist at Timmins Native Friendship Centre. Focus on supporting pregnant women and ensuring optimal health for moms and babies. As part of the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program, this role is essential for providing tailored nutritional support to at-risk Indigenous mothers.
You will contribute to improving health outcomes for families living off-reserve, ensuring cultural relevance and community engagement in the program’s objectives. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess nutritional needs of pregnant women
- Facilitate workshops and public education on nutrition
- Document progress and provide comprehensive reports
- Collaborate with not-for-profit and government agencies
- Advocate for Indigenous health needs in the community Requirements:
- Diploma in Social Work or Health Sciences
- Proficiency in MS Office and database applications
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
- Experience working with Indigenous communities
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle Support Indigenous mothers with essential nutrition and care, fostering healthier communities through dedicated service.
