Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Industrial Service Technician / Mechanic to join our team. This position involves servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and material handling equipment both in our shop and at customer locations.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, and able to work independently in a field service environment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and material handling equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and equipment repairs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to identify and correct equipment failures.
- Complete service calls at customer locations and work to minimize equipment downtime.
- Repair or replace defective components and perform required equipment adjustments.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
- Complete service reports and accurately document work performed and parts used.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned service materials in good working condition.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and service requirements.
- Follow company and customer health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other related service and shop duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Industrial Mechanic, Service Technician, Millwright, Heavy Equipment Technician, Automotive Technician, or in a similar mechanical role.
- Robust mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to work independently and effectively troubleshoot equipment in the field.
- Good communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, and working around industrial equipment.
- Valid driver's licence.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade school, apprenticeship, or related technical training is considered an asset.
- Experience with forklifts, industrial battery equipment, conveyors, lifting equipment, or other material handling systems is considered an asset.
Schedule & Travel
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Primarily daytime hours.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
- Travel to customer locations is required.
- Occasional overnight travel is required.
Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
