Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for infants and toddlers
- Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care
- Communicate effectively with children using clear language and positive reinforcement techniques
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan classroom activities, monitor progress, and adapt strategies to meet individual needs
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, daily routines, and any incidents or observations
- Foster an inclusive setting by supporting children with diverse backgrounds and special needs, including those with disabilities
- Engage parents through regular updates on their child's progress and developmental milestones
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with young children in a childcare or early childhood education setting
- Knowledge of child development principles, especially for infants and toddlers
- Bilingual abilities in English and French are highly desirable to support diverse families
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom activities and documentation efficiently
- Competency in computer operation for record keeping and communication purposes
- Demonstrated time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities throughout the day
- Leadership qualities that inspire trust, patience, and positive guidance in young learners
- Formal training or certification in early childhood education or childcare is required; additional training in special education is a plus
