About Norelco Cabinets

Norelco Cabinets Ltd. is a locally owned and operated custom cabinetry manufacturer serving customers and dealer partners throughout Western Canada. We have been manufacturing quality cabinetry in the Okanagan since 1972.

We are looking for an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our team and play an important role in managing and supporting the accounting and financial processes for multiple related entities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is recently CPA-designated or actively engaged in the final levels of the CPA program and is looking for a hands-on role within a manufacturing environment.

Position Summary

Reporting to the CFO, the Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for a broad range of accounting functions, including full-cycle accounting, month-end reporting, reconciliations, inventory accounting, costing, and financial analysis.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, identifying discrepancies and opportunities for improvement, and providing accurate financial information to support business decisions.

This is a hands-on accounting position, working closely with the CFO, not primarily a bookkeeping/data-entry role.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Accounting

· Manage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate general ledger records.

· Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.

· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

· Prepare and post journal entries and account adjustments.

· Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.

· Assist with cash flow monitoring and forecasting.

· Provide banking for ADP payroll processing and integration

Month-End & Year-End

· Prepare month-end working papers and reconciliations.

· Assist with monthly financial statements and management reporting.

· Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.

· Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for year-end.

· Work with external accountants/auditors as required.

Manufacturing Accounting

· Maintain and reconcile WIP and inventory accounts.





· Assist with product and manufacturing costing.

· Analyze inventory and production variances.

· Support costing and pricing analysis.

· Review manufacturing-related expenses and identify unusual variances.

· Work with operations and the ERP system to understand and improve the accuracy of costing information.

· Assist with reporting on production costs, margins, and other key financial metrics.

Tax & Cross Border Customs Compliance

· Assist with GST/PST filings and related reconciliations.

· Maintain accurate records for tax and regulatory requirements.

· Support year-end review engagement external accounting requirements.

Financial Analysis & Process Improvement

· Prepare financial reports and analysis for management using SAGE INTACT, Quick Books, and INSIGHT ERP systems

· Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

· Develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and procedures.

· Assist with budgeting and forecasting.

· Provide financial information and analysis to support operational and business decisions.

Required Qualifications The successful candidate will have:

· 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

· A CPA designation OR active enrollment in the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP).

· Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting.

· Experience with month-end and year-end processes.

· Strong Excel skills.

· Experience with an ERP or integrated accounting system.

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Manufacturing Experience





Manufacturing accounting experience is strongly preferred and may be required depending on the candidate’s overall qualifications.

Experience with any of the following would be considered a significant asset:

· Manufacturing costing

· Inventory accounting

· Bill of materials

· Production variances

· Job costing

· Standard costing

· Product margins

· Work-in-process inventory

· Production reporting

· ERP manufacturing systems

Education & Professional Development

· CPA designation preferred

· CPA candidate actively pursuing the designation is strongly encouraged to apply.

· Relevant post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business is required.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $36.00 - $46.00 per year, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and CPA status.
