Fort McMurray

- Base rate $52.50 - $55.00/hr, overtime after 8 hours a day and after 44 hours a week.
- With daily overtime on a 10 hour day your blended rate is $57.75 - $60.50/hr, the shift is 10 days on, 4 days off, 10 hours a day.
- Housing is not supplied, you must be local to Fort McMurray and have your own transportation.

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Welder to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication tasks that meet precise specifications. Your expertise will ensure the structural integrity and safety of various projects, from ductwork to complex assemblies.

This position offers an exciting prospect to work with advanced tools and techniques in a fast-paced environment, contributing to impactful projects that require precision, mechanical knowledge, and a proactive approach.

Duties

- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and procedures.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding to join metal components with precision and consistency.
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape, cut, and assemble metal parts.
- Conduct rigging operations to lift and position heavy materials safely using cranes or forklifts.




- Measure dimensions accurately with calipers and other measuring devices; apply basic math skills for precise fabrication.
- Execute mechanical tasks such as machining, assembly, ductwork fabrication, and working with schematics for complex systems.
- Maintain a clean and protected work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to welding, rigging, machining, and construction activities.

Experience

- Proven experience as a Journeyman Welder in manufacturing or construction environments.
- Extensive knowledge of welding techniques including MIG and TIG welding processes.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience with rigging operations, crane handling, forklift operation, and mechanical assembly.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems such as ductwork installation and plasma cutting procedures.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, calipers, press brake machines, and basic math for precise fabrication tasks.
- Prior background in construction or manufacturing projects that involve schematics interpretation and assembly work is highly desirable.
