Horizon Industrial Services Ltd. is expanding into British Columbia, and we're looking for an experienced Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to become our first permanent field employee based in the Lower Mainland.

This is not a typical Millwright position.

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with field leadership, customer relationship skills, commercial awareness, and the desire to help build and grow our BC operation.

You'll be a working Millwright, but you'll also represent Horizon with customers, lead employees and subcontractors, attend customer and sales meetings, identify additional work, and help us develop new and existing customer relationships throughout BC.

As Horizon grows in the province, we expect this position to grow with it.

What You'll Do

- Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Install and service conveyor and material-handling systems.
- Perform machinery installation, relocation, alignment, rigging, and commissioning work.
- Respond to breakdowns and emergency service requirements.
- Lead Horizon employees, apprentices, and subcontractors on BC projects.
- Coordinate field activities and maintain standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Communicate directly with customers and Horizon leadership.
- Attend meetings with prospective and existing customers alongside Horizon's Sales and leadership team.
- Identify additional maintenance, repair, installation, upgrade, and project opportunities while working at customer facilities.




- Help develop scopes and provide technical information for estimates and proposals.
- Build strong customer relationships and help Horizon grow its BC customer base.
- Complete required service reports, time entries, safety documentation, photographs, and field records.

What We're Looking For

Required

- Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright).
- Previous Lead Hand, Field Supervisor, or comparable industrial field-leadership experience.
- Solid industrial mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Experience leading tradespeople and/or subcontractors.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills and follow-through.
- Valid driver's licence and satisfactory driver's abstract.
- Ability to travel throughout BC and occasionally elsewhere in Western Canada.
- Flexibility for overtime, shutdowns, weekends, and occasional emergency service work.

Strong Assets

- Supervisory or management experience.
- Sales, business-development, or account-development experience.
- Experience identifying and developing additional work with existing customers.
- Conveyor and material-handling equipment experience.
- Industrial field-service experience.
- Machinery installation and relocation experience.
- Distribution, fulfillment, parcel, or logistics experience.
- Rigging, alignment, welding, or fabrication experience.

The Person We're Looking For We're looking for someone who thinks beyond the immediate work order.

You can troubleshoot a mechanical problem, lead a crew, communicate with a maintenance manager, and sit in a customer meeting with our Sales team.

You notice opportunities and ask questions.



If you're repairing one piece of equipment and identify another legitimate issue that Horizon can help solve, you bring it forward.

Compensation & Benefits

- $48.00–$55.00/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Work Location This is a field-based position in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. There is no single permanent customer site.

Most work is expected to be within the Lower Mainland, with travel throughout BC and occasional travel elsewhere in Western Canada.
