We are Systematix and we are currently looking for an experienced Enterprise Architecture Governance and LeanIX SME to support the continued development of Enterprise Architecture and technology governance capabilities for one of our key clients.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our client is a global leader in science and technology, supporting a diverse portfolio of businesses across healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, manufacturing, and industrial innovation. The organization is seeking a hands-on LeanIX subject matter expert to strengthen its architecture repository, technology governance processes, and ongoing portfolio management.
The primary focus is operationalizing LeanIX after implementation and initial population: keeping portfolio information accurate, complete, and useful across a large enterprise. The successful candidate will combine deep practical LeanIX expertise with architecture governance, stakeholder coordination, and clear executive-level documentation.
Knowledge transfer is an essential part of the engagement. You will work alongside an internal team member, explaining platform activities and their underlying governance principles while helping them develop the ability to perform the work independently. The role requires senior expertise and a willingness to perform day-to-day operational tasks.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES
LeanIX Operations and Portfolio Governance
- Build, configure, launch, and manage LeanIX surveys; coordinate responses and follow up with stakeholders to resolve missing or incomplete information.
- Administer and maintain fact sheets, relationships, attributes, and governance structures across application, technology, business capability, and enterprise standards portfolios.
- Improve portfolio data quality, completeness, and consistency; validate information with application owners, Enterprise Architects, and technology teams.
- Support onboarding and lifecycle management of applications, technologies, and standards, maintaining the relationships between them.
- Establish repeatable processes and an ongoing operating model to keep LeanIX current and sustainable after implementation.
- Support repository governance, audit readiness, and improvements to workflows, automation, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Architecture and Technology Governance
- Gather and interpret assessment inputs from Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Privacy, AI governance, Procurement, Risk, and third-party risk functions.
- Identify gaps, conditions, exceptions, and required follow-up actions, translating fragmented technical and business inputs into clear decision documentation.
- Draft Technology Review Decisions, Architecture Review Decisions, decision memoranda,
technology standards, and related governance artifacts for architecture leadership review.
- Prepare decision packages supporting architecture review-board processes; track conditions, approvals, actions, and supporting evidence through follow-up.
- Maintain traceable governance records and improve templates, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
Knowledge Transfer and Team Enablement
- Work side-by-side with an internal team member on surveys, portfolio maintenance, data quality, and other day-to-day LeanIX activities.
- Explain how activities are performed and why the associated governance and operational practices matter.
- Provide practical coaching and develop repeatable processes and documentation that enable the team to perform ongoing work independently.
ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Architecture Governance, IT Governance, Technology Portfolio Management, Application Portfolio Management, or a related discipline.
- Deep, demonstrable hands-on experience administering and operating LeanIX within a large enterprise, including ongoing maintenance after implementation.
- Direct experience personally building and managing LeanIX surveys and using responses to improve portfolio information and data completeness.
- Practical experience maintaining fact sheets, relationships, attributes, application and technology portfolios, and enterprise standards information.
- Experience establishing and maintaining architecture repository governance and sustainable data-maintenance processes.
- Experience supporting Architecture Review Boards, Technology Review Boards, or comparable technology governance processes.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical, cybersecurity, privacy, risk, and business assessments and synthesize them into concise, decision-quality documentation.
- Exceptional technical and executive writing skills, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to coach colleagues and transfer practical LeanIX knowledge through hands-on collaboration.
- Ability to work independently with senior technical and business stakeholders, coordinate multiple activities, and remain actively involved in operational work.
- Excellent organizational, verbal communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
Candidates should be able to explain specific examples of what they personally configured, administered, or maintained, how they approached the work, and the outcomes achieved.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- LeanIX certification or advanced LeanIX administration experience, including technology standards and decision-management capabilities.
- Experience managing large application and technology portfolios in a global or federated enterprise.
- Experience working with Cybersecurity, Privacy, AI governance, Procurement, compliance, and third-party risk teams.
- Experience developing scalable governance processes, templates, workflows, and operating procedures.
- Previous experience mentoring or developing less-experienced LeanIX users.
ABOUT THE ROLE This is an initial six-month contract opportunity with potential for extension or conversion to permanent employment based on business needs and approvals. Permanent headcount has not yet been approved, and conversion is not guaranteed.
The role is remote within North America, with the successful candidate expected to consistently work Eastern Time business hours and collaborate with stakeholders across a global enterprise.
Success will include improving LeanIX data quality and completeness, establishing sustainable portfolio maintenance processes, producing clear and traceable governance documentation, and transferring practical LeanIX knowledge to the internal team. This will allow Enterprise Architects to spend more time on strategic architecture activities.
