Combi Shipping Inc. is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland.

With operations in both Canada and Denmark, Combi Shipping provides international freight forwarding and logistics solutions, specializing in temperature-controlled (reefer) transportation of food products while handling a diverse range of general and specialized cargo.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and can confidently coordinate international shipments from origin to final destination.

This is a hands-on position encompassing all aspects of freight forwarding, transportation coordination, customer service and logistics administration. The successful candidate will work closely with our international network of carriers, shipping lines, agents, suppliers and customers to ensure cargo moves efficiently, safely and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

International freight forwarding and operations

- Arrange and coordinate international ocean, road and air freight shipments, including import, export and cross-trade movements.
- Manage shipments from initial booking through to final delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation.
- Coordinate with ocean carriers, airlines, trucking companies, customs brokers, warehouses and overseas agents.
- Obtain and compare freight rates, prepare quotations and arrange transportation according to customer requirements.
- Monitor shipment schedules, track cargo movements and proactively resolve delays or disruptions.
- Coordinate container bookings, cargo collection, loading, unloading and final delivery.

Refrigerated and food-product logistics
- Coordinate temperature-controlled transportation of fresh, frozen and other perishable food products, with particular emphasis on seafood.




- Arrange refrigerated containers and trailers, ensuring appropriate temperature settings and equipment availability.
- Monitor reefer shipments and coordinate responses to temperature deviations, equipment malfunctions or transportation delays.
- Work with cold-storage facilities, processing plants, carriers and terminals to maintain the cold chain throughout transportation.
- Coordinate time-sensitive shipments and ensure compliance with applicable food safety, import and export requirements.

Documentation, customs and administration
- Prepare, review and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading, air waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists and certificates of origin.
- Coordinate customs clearance with brokers and ensure all required documentation is provided accurately and on time.
- Arrange health certificates and other applicable documentation for international food shipments.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, update internal systems and manage operational correspondence.
- Process supplier invoices, verify freight charges and prepare customer billing.
- Assist with general administrative duties and day-to-day office operations.

Customer service and international coordination
- Serve as a key point of contact for customers, providing shipment updates, quotations and operational support.
- Build and maintain relationships with shipping lines, transportation providers, overseas agents and logistics partners.
- Collaborate with our Danish operations and international network to coordinate shipments across multiple time zones.
- Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency,



reduce costs and strengthen customer service.

Qualifications and experience We are interested in candidates who bring initiative, strong organizational skills and a willingness to take ownership of their work.

What we're looking for

- Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, shipping or a related field.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines and adapt quickly when plans change.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
- Confidence working with international partners and communicating across different time zones.

The following would be considered assets:
- Experience coordinating refrigerated containers, seafood exports or other temperature-sensitive cargo.
- Knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures and international trade documentation.
- Familiarity with Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) export certification, catch certificates and food traceability requirements.
- Experience with freight forwarding or transportation management software.
- Education or certification in logistics, international trade or supply chain management, including CIFFA certification.
