We are looking for a driven, self-motivated Apprentice Machinist to join our production team. If you take pride in precision manufacturing, enjoy problem-solving, and want to work in an environment that values quality and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Machinist at Hawkeye Industries, you will produce precision components according to engineering blueprints and direct customer specifications. You will oversee the full manufacturing process—from initial setup and CNC programming to final inspection.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Manufacturing: Handle complete setup, validation, machining, and finishing of components according to design specifications.
- Machining & Optimization: Safely operate machinery to meet tolerances.
- Custom Tooling: Assist with Design and manufacture custom fixtures and tooling as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Perform ongoing quality checks throughout production runs.
- Documentation: Keep detailed and accurate records of manufacturing details and job progress.
- Safety & Collaboration: Maintain a clean,
secure workspace and take on additional operational duties as required.
About the Qualifications
- Trade Standing: Registered 2nd-Year Apprentice Machinist (or higher). A Red Seal Journeyperson Machinist certificate or CNC Technology Certificate is considered a strong asset.
- Experience: 1 to 4+ years of hands-on machining or apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong mathematical aptitude, mechanical proficiency, and comfortable working with CNC programming and machine controls.
- Computer Skills: Proficient with general computer software and basic shop/manufacturing systems.
- Precision & Drive: Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues on the fly.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work comfortably in a active shop environment.
