About the Role

Our consulting client is looking for an experienced Mainframe Security Migration Specialist to lead complex enterprise security migrations from CA Top Secret (TSS) and ACF2 to RACF within z/OS environments.

This role requires deep hands-on expertise in mainframe security administration, RACF, ACF2, CA Top Secret, IBM zSecure, and ESM migration. The successful candidate will assess existing security environments, develop migration strategies, execute conversions and cutovers, and provide post-migration support and knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities

- Perform in-depth analysis of existing security environments using TSS or ACF2, identifying potential challenges and developing detailed migration strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and compliance checks to identify gaps and potential migration issues.
- Develop project plans covering Planning, Conversion, Implementation, and Cutover phases, including timelines and alignment with project objectives.
- Lead and execute complex migrations from TSS or ACF2 to RACF while minimizing downtime and production impact.
- Configure and integrate RACF within z/OS environments based on business and security requirements.
- Manage the installation, configuration, and validation of RACF profiles, rules, and access controls replacing existing TSS or ACF2 configurations.
- Utilize IBM zSecure and RACF-specific utilities to automate RACF command creation and streamline migration activities.
- Provide post-migration support, troubleshoot issues, fine-tune configurations,



and ensure the RACF environment operates as expected.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops covering RACF usage, administration, and security best practices.
- Collaborate with system programmers, network engineers, and application owners to successfully integrate RACF with existing systems and applications.
- Serve as a RACF subject matter expert and provide technical guidance on mainframe security.
- Explore opportunities to integrate AI capabilities with RACF for enhanced security monitoring and automation.

What You Bring
- Solid hands-on mainframe security administration experience.
- Deep expertise with RACF, ACF2, CA Top Secret (TSS), and IBM zSecure .
- Demonstrated experience executing TSS or ACF2 to RACF migrations .
- Strong knowledge of z/OS security administration .
- Experience analyzing existing ESM environments and developing detailed migration strategies.
- Experience installing, configuring, and validating RACF profiles, rules, and access controls.
- Hands-on experience using zSecure and RACF-specific utilities.
- Experience with security assessments, vulnerability analysis, audit, compliance, and remediation.
- Ability to develop and execute migration plans covering planning, conversion, implementation, and cutover.
- Experience providing post-migration support and troubleshooting.
- Ability to conduct RACF training and knowledge-transfer sessions.
- Ability to collaborate with system programmers, network engineers, and application owners.
- Foundational knowledge of PL/I, Assembler, REXX, and Java , with an interest in developing these skills further for mainframe security and automation.
- Interest in AI and how it can be integrated with RACF to enhance security monitoring and automation.
