Direct Coil Inc., a rapidly growing manufacturer of water coils and refrigeration equipment is currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team.
To do well in this position you will have previous experience in maintenance preferably in a manufacturing environment. You will work independently operating and utilizing standard machine shop and hand tools to repair and/or rebuild related equipment. You will also be responsible for repairing dies and re-working tooling. You must understand the critical success factors of each process and be able to diagnose and solve critical and chronic problems.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Troubleshoot machine problems and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose and evaluate machine problems by interacting with equipment operators to repair machines.
- Repair of pumps, motors, hydraulics, pneumatic and mechanical systems
- Maintain and repair compressors.
- Possess familiarity with AC/DC drives and the capability to troubleshoot, repair and program.
- Operate welders to fabricate new parts or repair broken parts using a variety of welding techniques.
- Use power hand tools to perform a variety of repairs. Duties include hand drilling and tapping, grinding materials away and boring holes.
- Ensure all machines are in good operating condition
- Operate band saws, circular saws, jigsaws, handsaws, hacksaws, etc., to cut materials for repairing/rebuilding machines and equipment.
- Perform related repairs such as picking up and delivering parts needed for repairs, moving equipment, installing new equipment, etc.
- Measuring instruments including micrometers, scales, gages and calipers and working within tolerances of 0.0001.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of expendable items in the crib.
- Safely operate forklift truck as needed.
- Maintenance of all equipment and the building
- Ensure cleanliness of work area and machines
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Core Competencies:
- 2-3 years minimum experience in maintenance mechanic role
- Formal training as an industrial mechanic an asset
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
- Trained or experienced in blueprint reading.
- Good knowledge of electrical is a must
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Proficient in repairs, trouble shooting and time management
- Trained or experience in gages and measuring equipment.
- Must be mathematically inclined
- Must be able to work in a safe manner following Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Strong attention to detail needed
- Must be willing to work irregular shifts and weekends when needed
- Must have own toolbox
- Have a robust work ethic and be able to cohesively operate in a team environment
- Driver’s License
Physical Demands: This position requires the employee to stand for long periods of time, walk back and forth from machines, maintenance equipment, lift (up to 50 lbs.), have full manual dexterity and be comfortable working at heights up to 50 feet.
You will require your own transportation and CSA approved work boots.
