Motel 6 Headingley is looking for a Full-Time Maintenance Team Member to help keep our hotel secure, comfortable, welcoming, and looking its best for our guests and our team.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days in hotel maintenance are exactly the same! You’ll help keep our building, grounds, equipment, and guest areas running smoothly.

Building & General Maintenance

- Inspect and maintain plumbing, electrical, structural, and building components
- Complete general repairs and preventative maintenance
- Maintain doors, windows, floors, walls, fixtures, and other hotel areas
- Identify potential problems before they become bigger ones

Groundskeeping

- Maintain outdoor areas
- Clear sidewalks (snow) and remove debris
- Trim hedges and help keep our property looking clean and welcoming

HVAC & Plumbing

- Inspect and maintain HVAC equipment and change filters
- Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and fixtures
- Complete basic electrical repairs such as replacing bulbs, switches, and fixtures

Equipment & Preventative Maintenance

- Maintain tools, equipment, and machinery
- Complete preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and help source replacement parts or equipment when needed

Pool & Spa

- Help maintain pool and spa equipment




- Monitor and maintain appropriate chemical levels
- Complete regular checks and address maintenance concerns

Safety & Compliance

- Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain required records
- Check fire alarms, extinguishers, detectors, and other safety equipment
- Participate in our Health & Safety Committee
- Maintain WHMIS certification (or be willing to obtain it)

Emergency & Guest-Focused Repairs

- Respond quickly and calmly to urgent maintenance issues
- Work with the hotel team to resolve problems efficiently
- Help ensure our guests have a safe and comfortable stay

Documentation

- Maintain accurate records of work completed, inspections, repairs, and work orders

We’re Looking For Someone Who... ✔ Has at least 3 years of maintenance experience

✔ Has a solid understanding of general building maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, and repairs

✔ Is a natural problem solver who enjoys figuring things out

✔ Has a great eye for detail and takes pride in their work

✔ Can work independently but also enjoys being part of a team

✔ Is dependable, organized, and comfortable prioritizing multiple tasks

✔ Is comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all types of Manitoba weather

✔ Communicates well in English

✔ Has a valid driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle

Pay: $21.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
