Mechanical Design Drafter / Designer

Job Summary

Reporting to the Mechanical Design Department Manager, the incumbent participates in the design and development of manufactured products. They will have the following responsibilities:

Responsabilities

- Create 3D models of parts from 2D sketches or from physical parts;
- Produce 2D drawings with the dimensioning required for production;
- Design 3D mechanical assemblies and generate bills of materials from them;
- Collaborate on the development of current concepts and designs for the R&D; department;
- Apply company standards for drafting and modeling;
- Participate in problem-solving related to drawings and production release.

Qualifications

- Mechanical engineering technician diploma or DVS (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in industrial drafting;
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or equivalent, and the Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook);
- Works well in a team and is very open to giving and receiving constructive feedback;
- Strong analytical skills; autonomous, rigorous and resourceful;
- Creative (proposes new ideas and ways of doing things);
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics (an asset).
