We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated part time Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare administration team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical billing processes, insurance procedures, and medical terminology. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of billing operations, ensuring accurate claim submission, managing all billing rejections, monitoring re-submissions, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Your expertise will contribute to the productive financial operations of our healthcare facility and support high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims promptly, resolving discrepancies and resubmitting as necessary.
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure correct coding using appropriate medical terminology for diagnoses and procedures.
- Stay current with changes in healthcare regulations,
insurance policies, and billing practices to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare billing setting is preferred.
- Experience with Input Health (EMR)
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and medical billing software is essential.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to minimize errors in billing submissions.
- Effective communication skills
