Medical Office Assistant
We are looking for a professional, organized, and patient-focused Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to support the day-to-day operations of our clinic. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple administrative responsibilities in a busy healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and manage patient appointments.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Register new patients and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Process patient payments and balance daily transactions.
- Maintain electronic medical records while ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to support efficient patient flow and clinic operations.
- Assist with administrative duties including filing, emailing, scanning, data entry, and document management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Follow clinic policies, privacy regulations, and health and safety procedures.
- Support the healthcare team with day-to-day administrative and operational needs.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant, Medical Receptionist, or Front Desk Receptionist in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is considered an asset.
- Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system such as Jane App, Accuro, or similar is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient information.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a healthcare team.
- Skilled, dependable, respectful, and patient-focused attitude.
