Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Montessori Infant - Toddler Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about Montessori education, has a deep understanding of child development, and is committed to creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment.
This is a full time position with an 8 hour shift scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., according to the needs of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a Montessori classroom following authentic Montessori principles.
- Assist and maintain a prepared environment that encourages independence, exploration, and learning.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to support a collaborative learning community.
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Follow all licensing and regulatory requirements as outlined by Alberta childcare standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Montessori Assistant (AMI or MACTE accredited).
- Minimum 1* year of experience* as a Montessori Infant - Toddler Assistant in an early childhood setting.
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 1, 2, or 3 certification.
- Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and child development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
