Overview

Boreal Family Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to improve timely access for patients already rostered to our family physicians. This role focuses on same-day and short-notice care and physician coverage, without an independent patient panel to build or maintain.

Duties

· Provide same-day and short-notice appointments for rostered patients, including coverage when physicians are away from the office for hospital care or other obligations.

· Assess and manage acute concerns, chronic conditions and follow-up needs; provide preventive care, health education and patient counselling.

· Order and interpret investigations and prescribe within the NP scope of practice.

· Collaborate closely with physician assistant, family physicians and the healthcare team, adapting to clinic needs and supporting access across the entire groups’ practices.

Qualifications

· Current Nurse Practitioner registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and Primary Health Care NP designation.

· Family medicine or primary care experience preferred.

· Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, communication and interpersonal skills.





· Ability to practise independently while collaborating closely with physicians and the team; commitment to accessible, patient-centred care.

Compensation and benefits

· Annual salary of $127,987 in a full-time Monday-to-Friday position.

· 15 paid vacation days annually, with scheduling coordinated around clinic coverage needs.

· 8 paid sick days and 5 personal days annually.

· Health benefits for you and your family through Desjardins and Olympia following a three-month probation period.

· Enrollment in the Industrial Alliance RRSP plan following probation.

· 10% pay in lieu of benefits during the three-month probation period, replaced by benefit-plan participation after probation.

· Public holiday entitlement.

The expected benefits and leave package is based on the current team offer terms. Final terms, eligibility and any first-year prorating will be confirmed in the employment offer.
