Our Teacher-Tutors are Ontario educators who provide personalized instruction designed to strengthen academic skills, address learning gaps, build confidence, and help students become more independent learners.
We support students from elementary through secondary school across a variety of subject areas, including literacy, mathematics, science, executive functioning, and general academics.
Position Overview
We are currently expanding our team of in-office Teacher-Tutors at our Mississauga location.
We are looking for versatile educators who are comfortable supporting students across a variety of grades and subject areas, from elementary through secondary school.
This is a part-time position beginning at approximately 2–3 hours per week, with opportunities to take on additional students based on your qualifications, availability, student needs, and fit.
Weekend availability is required. Additional weekday afternoon and evening availability is considered an asset.
We are particularly interested in educators with experience in:
- Literacy and reading intervention
- Intermediate/ Senior mathematics
- Senior science, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Executive functioning and study skills
- Special Education and supporting students with diverse learning needs
Preference will be given to candidates who can provide literacy intervention and/or support senior-level mathematics and science.
The Role
As a Teacher-Tutor at Goode Learning, you will provide individualized, one-on-one educational support based on each student's strengths, needs, goals, and current academic programming.
This is more than homework help. Teacher-Tutors are expected to identify areas of need, provide purposeful instruction, monitor progress, and adjust programming as the student develops.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing individualized one-on-one instruction in our Mississauga office
- Supporting students from elementary through secondary grades
- Planning and preparing purposeful sessions based on student needs
- Using assessments, observations, and student work to identify strengths and learning gaps
- Establishing measurable learning goals and monitoring student progress
- Providing explicit instruction and appropriate scaffolding
- Supporting current schoolwork while addressing underlying skill gaps
- Incorporating executive functioning and learning strategies where appropriate
- Maintaining required Tutor Reports and documentation
- Communicating professionally with families and the Goode Learning team
- Collaborating with Goode Learning staff regarding programming and student needs
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have:
- Membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
- Pre-service teachers may also be considered
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum
- Experience providing individualized or differentiated instruction
- Experience working with students with diverse learning profiles
- Robust communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and families
- Reliability and the ability to commit to a consistent tutoring schedule
- Weekend availability
Experience in Special Education, structured literacy/reading intervention, senior mathematics, or senior science is considered a strong asset. Compensation & Position Details
