Job Summary
Aventis Security is seeking an experienced and organized Operations Manager to oversee daily security operations, manage field personnel, maintain client relationships, and ensure the effective delivery of security services across assigned locations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating security guards and mobile patrol teams, monitoring service quality, addressing operational issues, supporting client requirements, and ensuring compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and applicable regulations.
This role requires strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple sites and respond to operational demands.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations and Service Delivery
- Oversee daily security operations, including static guarding, mobile patrols, alarm response, and special-event security services.
- Coordinate guard scheduling, shift coverage, site assignments, and relief arrangements.
- Ensure all posts are adequately staffed and services are delivered according to client contracts and post orders.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor service quality and guard performance.
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, staffing shortages, and client concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Review daily activity reports, patrol records, incident reports, and attendance records.
Staff Management and Supervision
- Recruit, onboard, train, and supervise security personnel.
- Ensure guards maintain valid security licences, required certifications, and appropriate training.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, uniform standards, conduct, and job performance.
- Address employee concerns, performance issues, and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies.
- Support employee retention, engagement, and professional development.
Client Relations
- Maintain positive working relationships with existing clients and site representatives.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries, complaints, and service requests.
- Attend client meetings and provide operational updates and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and support client retention.
- Coordinate with the sales team regarding new contracts, site assessments, and service transitions.
Compliance, Safety, and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with applicable provincial security regulations, employment standards, occupational health and safety requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate operational records, schedules, training documentation, and incident reports.
- Ensure guards understand and follow site-specific post orders, emergency procedures, and health and safety requirements.
- Investigate incidents and complaints, prepare findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support internal reviews, client audits, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Administration and Resource Management
- Assist with preparing operational schedules, staffing plans, and service reports.
- Monitor operational costs, overtime, travel time, mileage, and other approved expenses.
- Coordinate company vehicles, radios, keys, uniforms, equipment, and other operational resources.
- Recommend improvements to scheduling, reporting, supervision, and operational procedures.
- Provide regular updates to senior management regarding staffing, client satisfaction, service quality, and operational challenges.
Qualifications and RequirementsEducation and Experience
- Post-secondary education in business administration, security management, operations management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in security operations, workforce supervision, or a related operational management role.
- Previous experience supervising security guards, mobile patrol teams, or multi-site operations is strongly preferred.
- Experience with scheduling, client service, incident management,
and operational reporting.
Licences and Certifications
- Valid BC Security Worker Licence or eligibility to obtain and maintain one, as applicable to the role.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence preferred, with a satisfactory driving record.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
- Occupational health and safety training is an asset.

- Ability to work independently and respond to urgent operational matters outside regular business hours when required.
- Ability to travel between client sites and conduct field inspections.
Work Conditions
- Full-time position.
- Primarily based at Surrey, with regular travel to client sites.
- Flexible availability may be required to support operational needs, including occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency situations.
- Compensation: $40,000 to 60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
