Join our eye care team as an Optometric Assistant, where you will directly enhance patient experiences and support our optometrists. In this role, you will be pre-testing patients, ensuring smooth patient flow, managing electronic medical records, and front desk duties.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify appointments, and check in patients efficiently at the front desk.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR) systems (Optosys) to ensure accurate and up-to-date patient information.
- Prepare exam rooms, assist optometrists and facilitate patient flow throughout the day.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling visits, processing insurance claims, and maintaining patient records.
Skills
- Previous experience working in an optometry, optical or ophthalmology office setting is highly desirable,
- Familiarity in the electronic medical records system Optosys is an asset but training will be provided.
- Strong knowledge of optometric terminology related to eye care and general healthcare practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor for patient interactions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced workplace while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical office procedures, insurance processing, and retail sales principles is highly desirable.
