General Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the technical supervisor, the packaging set-up operator assembles, adjusts and operates various machines in the Packaging Department. They ensure that the equipment is maintained in optimal operating condition and are responsible for carrying out their duties in compliance with GMP and HSE standards.
Main Responsibilities
Batch production
- Ensuring that the assembly, disassembly, and operation of equipment comply with established procedures and instructions;
- Diligently completing documentation during production;
- Ensuring equipment is in good working order daily;
- Ensuring that each piece of equipment is running properly and making any necessary adjustments;
- Collaborating with operators and the team leaders to ensure that the production schedule is met;
- Completing the necessary documentation in the event of deviations;
- Participating in continuous improvement to optimize equipment performance;
- Working as part of a team to resolve equipment malfunctions;
- May perform preventive maintenance according to the established schedule;
- May participate in the development and revision of procedures and operating manuals;
- May participate in teams to improve equipment and processes;
- Ensuring that production steps are followed as specified in the MBR (Manufacturing Batch Record).
Equipment and material
- Ensuring equipment and work areas are in positive working order and compliant;
- Ensuring that their workstation and equipment are kept clean and in compliance with GMP and HSE standards;
- Ensuring that equipment is used properly;
- Notifying the team leader/manager of any problems encountered;
- Complying with production standards (OEE, productivity, yield targets);
- Performs cleaning of equipment and work areas;
- May verify, complete and submit batch records and packaging documents;
- Takes the necessary measures to protect the integrity of personnel, property and products in the event of an abnormality;
- Entering data into production management systems.
GMP and HSE
- Working in accordance with applicable GMP and HSE standards, policies and procedures;
- Applying HSE guidelines, procedures and instructions on a daily basis;
- Reporting any quality/HSE events to their manager;
- Highlighting problems and suggesting improvements.
Education And Experience Requirements
- High school diploma,
a DEC in mechanics or a DEP with relevant experience;
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a set-up operator in the pharmaceutical industry or a related field.
Technical And Professional Requirements
- Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic knowledge;
- Knowledge of production tools.

Overall Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $51,109 to $67,080. The actual base salary will be determined based on several factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, education, and location. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for our annual bonus program.
