What You'll Do

Reporting to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), you will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by:

- Assisting patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral care.
- Supporting patient mobility through lifting, repositioning, transferring, ambulating, and turning patients safely.
- Assisting with meals, nourishment, hydration, and low-risk feeding activities as assigned.
- Monitoring and documenting assigned patient care activities, including intake and output, weights,



and activities of daily living.
- Preparing patient rooms for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized care environment.
- Communicating observations and changes in patient condition promptly and accurately to nursing staff.
- Supporting a culture of respect, dignity, and compassionate care for patients and families.

Required Qualifications

- Graduate of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) program or equivalent within the past two years.
- Candidates who graduated more than two years ago must possess a minimum of one year of full-time equivalent work experience within the last five years.
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 150 hours of PSW or equivalent clinical/work experience in a long-term care or complex continuing care setting within the last five years.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while functioning effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proven reliability and regular attendance. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Physical Requirements

This position involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients.
