Job Profile

We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll & Benefits Administrator to support our payroll and group benefits functions across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting to the Payroll & Benefits Manager, this role plays a meaningful part in ensuring our employees across Canada, the United States, and Australia are paid accurately and on time, and that their benefits are administered with care and precision.

Job Duties

- Payroll
- - Prepare and process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for approximately 250 hourly employees across Canada, Australia, and the USA using Eclipse (Canada/US) and ADP (Australia)

- - Assist with monthly salary payroll processing as required

- - Monitor time entry submissions through the internal time and attendance app; flag discrepancies for review

- - Process new hires, changes, and terminations in the payroll system

- - Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs) using ROE Web

- - Process payroll remittances and disbursements to tax authorities and WCB in accordance with regulatory requirements

- - Assist with year-end processing, including T4s (Canada) and W-2s (USA)

- - Prepare routine and ad hoc payroll reports for management as requested

- - Support the administration of group benefits plans across Canada (Canada Life)



and the United States, including enrolments, terminations, and life event changes

- - Process benefits deductions within payroll and assist with carrier reconciliations

- - Respond to employee inquiries regarding advantages coverage including working closely with the Payroll & Benefits Manager in addressing complex benefit questions

- - Assist with annual benefits renewal administration and updates to employee records

- - Support administration of employer-sponsored retirement plans, including RRSP (Canada) and 401(k) (USA) deductions and employer match processing

- General
- - Maintain accurate and organized payroll and benefits records

- - Other administrative tasks as required

Qualifications

- - 2+ years of full-cycle payroll processing experience; exposure to multi-jurisdictional payroll is an asset

- - Experience with or genuine interest in benefits administration

- - Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or actively working toward it

- - Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Excel

- - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy under deadline pressure

- - Clear communication skills and a service-oriented approach when working with employees and managers

- - Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

- - Experience with Eclipse, ADP, or similar payroll software is an asset

- - Background in construction, oilfield services, or industrial environments is an asset
