Job Information: We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized Payroll & Perks Administrator to manage our payroll operations and employee group benefits programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources , this role is responsible for the compliant, accurate, and timely execution of full-cycle, multi-provincial Canadian payroll, including Quebec.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Canadian statutory deductions, employer health taxes, workers' compensation reporting, and annual tax year-end reconciliations. In addition to payroll operations, this individual will oversee the end-to-end administration of our Canadian group insurance and retirement savings plans, serving as the trusted subject matter expert for both employees and regulatory authorities.

Who You Are…

- 3 to 5 years of dedicated, full-cycle Canadian payroll and group benefits administration experience within a multi-provincial setting.
- Proven hands-on experience processing Quebec payroll, with practical knowledge of Revenu Québec, QPP/QPIP, RL-1 reporting, and CNESST requirements.
- Comprehensive understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, provincial Employment Standards Acts (ESA/LNT), CRA taxable benefit rules, WSIB/WCB legislation, and Service Canada ROE guidelines.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Ceridian Dayforce is considered a strong asset.
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS, and data reconciliation formulas).




- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Understanding of payroll accounting principles, including payroll GL reconciliations
- Bilingualism (English and French), both written and verbal, is considered a strong asset to effectively support multi-provincial teams.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and using sound judgment to identify and resolve issues.

What You’ll Do… 1. Canadian Full-Cycle Payroll Processing

- Administer and execute end-to-end multi-provincial Canadian payroll on a bi-weekly cycle for salaried and hourly employees.
- Calculate and verify gross-to-net earnings, including regular hours, statutory holiday pay, overtime premiums, commissions, bonuses, retro-pay, taxable benefits and allowances.
- Manage multi-jurisdictional statutory withholdings.
- Process employee lifecycle changes, including new hire onboarding setups, compensation adjustments, leaves of absence (maternity, parental, short-term disability), and statutory termination payouts (vacation pay out, statutory severance/notice).
- Accurately prepare and submit electronic Records of Employment (ROEs) via Service Canada / ROE Web within mandated legislative deadlines.

2. Quebec Payroll Specialization & Provincial Compliance

- Manage full compliance for Quebec-based employees according to Revenu Québec and the Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST).
- Execute Quebec-specific remittances and assessments.
- Handle employee inquiries regarding Quebec payroll and/or benefits.

3. Year-End Administration & Tax Reporting

- Lead and execute the full Canadian payroll calendar year-end reconciliation and balancing processes.
- Audit, generate, and electronically file annual tax returns.
- Reconcile annual statutory deductions, Pension Adjustments (PA), employer health taxes (e.g., Ontario EHT,



Quebec HSF), and taxable benefit adjustments.
- Act as the primary organizational contact for CRA, Revenu Québec, and Service Canada inquiries, PIER reports, assessments, and payroll compliance reviews.
- Prepare basic general ledger (GL) journal entries and reports.

4. Workers' Compensation & Remittance Filings

- Calculate, reconcile, and submit timely workers' compensation returns across applicable provincial boards.

5. Group Benefits & Retirement Savings Administration

- Oversee day-to-day administration of comprehensive Canadian group benefits (Extended Health Care, Dental, Life Insurance, AD&D;, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability).
- Administer group retirement savings programs (Group RRSP), ensuring accurate payroll deductions and contribution reporting.
- Manage employee enrollments, status changes, beneficiary updates, and plan terminations directly within carrier portals.
- Manage and remit monthly benefit premium payments.

6. HRIS Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

- Maintain payroll and HRIS data integrity in accordance with Canadian privacy standards.
- Identify opportunities to automate workflows, streamline multi-provincial processes, and enhance self-service capabilities for employees.
