Fruitland Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients and residents in a well-organized, efficient pharmacy setting.

Qualifications - Please read carefully.

- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or technician in Canada is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, prescription processing, and dispensing procedures. Compounding experience is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems is required. Fillware knowledge is an asset.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

- Respond to customer inquiries, providing accurate and helpful information.
- Assist customers in locating and selecting products, including over-the-counter medications and health-related items.
- Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
- Ensure accurate counting, labeling and packaging of prescription medications.
- Perform medication inventory management, including stock rotation and monitoring expiry dates.
- Maintain a clean and organized dispensing area,



ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations.
- Receive and review prescriptions for completeness and accuracy.
- Enter prescription information into the pharmacy software system.
- Collaborate with the pharmacist to clarify prescription details or resolve any issues.
- Assist in maintaining prescription files and records.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence.
- Familiar with accurately making Compliance Packages
- Maintain and update patient profiles, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of insurance claims.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.
- Other duties as assigned.

Schedule

- Monday to Friday (3-4 days per week)
- Weekend availability
