Role Description The Post Office Clerk is a full-time, in office role based in Canada, working within a Rexall pharmacy location to support postal and customer service operations. In this position, the clerk processes mail and parcels, sells postal products, and assists customers with shipping options, postage rates, and tracking inquiries.
The role includes accurately handling cash and electronic transactions, balancing the till, and following all postal and company policies and procedures. The clerk maintains a clean, organized work area, ensures signage and supplies are stocked, and supports the broader store team by directing customers to pharmacy or retail services as needed.
The position requires consistent adherence to security, privacy, and safety standards while providing friendly, efficient service to every customer.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with diverse customers.
- Candidates should possess cash-handling, basic math, and point-of-sale (POS) operation skills to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Candidates should possess organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage lines, prioritize tasks, and maintain an orderly workspace.
- Candidates should possess attention to detail and accuracy skills for processing mail and parcels, verifying documentation, and following postal procedures.
- Candidates should possess problem-solving skills and the ability to handle inquiries, resolve minor issues, and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Previous retail, postal, or customer service experience is an asset; familiarity with Canadian postal services and regulations is beneficial.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move parcels within reasonable weight limits, and follow health and safety guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with reliability, integrity, and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
