Production Helper - Gelato, Bakery, Pastry, Dolci

La Famiglia Dolce Amore Family | Vancouver / Burnaby, BC We’re looking for a versatile, hardworking Production Helper to join our production team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with food, learning new skills, and moving between different areas of production throughout the day. You’ll work alongside our production team across gelato, pastry, baking, bread, and dolci, with the opportunity to develop deeper expertise and eventually specialize in an area that interests you.

What You’ll Do

Your responsibilities will vary depending on the production schedule and may include:

- Assisting with gelato production, including mixing bases, preparing ingredients, and making toppings and inclusions
- Preparing dolci and desserts, including tiramisu, panna cotta, cheesecakes, cookies, and other desserts
- Assisting with lamination and viennoiserie production
- Preparing and baking pastries and cookies
- Assisting with bread production and bake-off
- Scaling ingredients and following recipes accurately
- Preparing fillings, creams, toppings, sauces, and other components
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe production environment
- Washing equipment, cleaning work areas, and helping with general kitchen organization
- Supporting different departments and jumping in wherever the production schedule requires
- Learning new techniques and production processes as you grow with the team

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

- Hardworking, reliable, and punctual
- Comfortable working in a quick-paced production environment
- Able to multi-task and switch between different types of work
- Detail-oriented and able to follow recipes and production instructions accurately
- Comfortable working independently while also being a strong team player
- Willing to perform both skilled and routine production tasks




- Eager to learn and develop new food-production skills
- Physically capable of being on your feet for extended periods and handling repetitive tasks
- Comfortable working early mornings, with shifts starting as early as 6:00 AM
- Available to work weekends
- Comfortable with 10+ hour shifts when required by the production schedule

Previous professional kitchen, bakery, pastry, or food-production experience is an asset, but we are also open to the right person who has a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in learning.

Growth Opportunities

This position is intentionally cross-functional. You’ll initially work across multiple areas of our production operation rather than being assigned to one station. As you gain experience and demonstrate your strengths, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility and develop a specialization in an area such as:

- Gelato
- Pastry & viennoiserie
- Bread
- Dolci & desserts
- Baking
- Production & prep

We’re looking for someone who wants to learn, grow, and become an important part of our production team.

Compensation

Starting / Training Wage: $20.00 per hour Compensation will be reviewed after approximately 3 months based on performance, skill development, reliability, and overall contribution to the team.

Schedule

- Early morning starts, typically 6:00 AM
- Full-time availability preferred
- 10+ hour shifts may be required depending on production needs
- Weekend availability is required
