Become a key support role at the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre as a Program Assistant. This position involves reception tasks and event coordination while respecting Indigenous perspectives.
The Program
Assistant will be vital in executing logistical support for various programs and events at the Centre, working closely with the Operations and Special Projects Manager. The role requires a deep understanding of the impact of residential schools on Indigenous peoples, along with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. You will coordinate meetings, manage schedules, and ensure effective communication among stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Organize complex event logistics and procedures
- Manage reception and provide front-line support
- Coordinate catering and AV needs for meetings
- Collaborate on special Elders-in-Residence programming
- Maintain office supplies and general facilities support Requirements:
- High School diploma plus two years post-secondary education
- Four years related experience or equivalent
- Solid cultural awareness regarding Indigenous issues
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
