PROJECT MANAGER

Urbacity Design Build | Ottawa, ON

Urbacity is growing and we have a busy schedule of renovations, additions and custom homes ahead. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team.

This role involves significant time in the field, with regular travel between active job sites to coordinate with our site teams, trades and suppliers, review project progress and address issues as they come up. You will work closely with our Build Manager, designers, trades, suppliers and office team throughout each project.

What you'll do

- Schedule trades and coordinate work between the site team, trades and suppliers
- Regularly visit active job sites and work directly with the site team
- Coordinate materials, deliveries, locates and inspections
- Manage purchase orders and project costs
- Prepare and document change orders
- Maintain project logs and Buildertrend documentation
- Prepare project reports and support invoicing
- Maintain Health & Safety and project documentation
- Track deficiencies and warranty items through completion
- Attend client meetings and site meetings as required
- Address client questions and concerns promptly and professionally
- Prepare project closeout and final documentation
- Identify and address schedule, cost and construction issues as they arise
- Communicate project updates and issues to the appropriate team members

What we're looking for

- 5+ years of experience in residential construction project management
- Experience with renovations, additions, custom homes or design-build construction




- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Good understanding of residential construction sequencing, materials and trades
- Familiarity with Ontario building practices, permits and inspections
- Experience coordinating trades, suppliers and multiple moving parts
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Comfortable managing project costs, budgets and documentation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to identify issues early, take ownership and follow through to resolution
- Confident and professional when communicating directly with clients, trades and internal team members
- Strong computer skills and comfortable using project management software and other digital tools
- Able to identify issues early, take ownership and follow through to resolution
- Valid driver's licence

Assets

- Buildertrend or other construction management software experience
- Experience working with Tarion requirements

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
