Position Description: QA Technologist
Kingsmill Foods is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented QA Technologist to play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our robust Food Safety and Quality Management System. Reporting directly to the QA Manager, this position is crucial for ensuring all Kingsmill products consistently meet and exceed internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.
Core Responsibilities:
- Quality System Management & Compliance:
- Perform comprehensive reviews of quality and production documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular internal GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) audits across production areas to identify and address potential non-conformances, ensuring high operational standards.
- Actively participate in the creation, revision, and control of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to quality assurance and food safety processes.
- Maintain and update HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) documentation, ensuring the ongoing integrity and effectiveness of our food safety plans.
- Audit & Continuous Improvement Support:
- Provide essential support during both internal and external audits (including regulatory, certification, and customer audits), ensuring all required documentation and evidence are readily available and facilitating a smooth audit process.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by assisting with corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes related to quality findings.
- Product & Raw Material Quality Assurance:
- Assist in the development and review of detailed specifications for current finished goods and incoming raw materials, ensuring all quality parameters are clearly defined and met.
- Conduct thorough quality testing and evaluation of raw materials and finished product samples, playing a key role in the product release process.
- Provide essential quality oversight and support during production test batches for new or revised products, ensuring quality attributes are consistently evaluated.
- Support new product development activities specifically from a quality assurance perspective, including the evaluation and testing of samples for quality attributes.

- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of effective collaboration with colleagues and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, suitable for documentation and reporting.
- Computer literate, with experience in data entry, document management, and general office software.
- Familiarity with Canadian and/or US food regulations (e.g., CFIA, FDA) is considered a significant asset.
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate university degree is required, with a strong academic emphasis in Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Min of 2 years of experience
- Able to work Saturday
- Able to work rotating shifts
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
