Humble Beginnings Nursery School is seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators to join our early learning program. The successful candidate will support children’s learning and development in a nurturing, structured, and faith-based workplace.

Hours of Work

- 4 days per week
- 4 hours per day
- 10 hours per week for snack prep and set up/take down
- Typical hours: 8:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. (subject to change)
- September - June

Compensation

- Starting at $27.75 (including WEG and AI)

Required Qualifications

- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) – required
- Knowledge of and compliance with the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- This position is within a faith-based organization. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to sign and adhere to North Park Community Church’s Statement of Faith, consistent with Ontario Human Rights Code provisions for religious organizations.

Program Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the co-lead/director to develop and implement developmentally appropriate programming
- Support programming that incorporates Biblical teachings across all areas of child development
- Actively engage with children during program hours (Tuesday - Friday,



9:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.)
- Communicate with parents at arrival and dismissal
- Ensure children are signed in and out in accordance with program procedure and safe arrival policy

Weekly Responsibilities:Classroom & Gym/Outdoor Setup

- Plan and create learning environments with open-ended, developmentally appropriate activities
- Coordinate gym setup and cleanup, ensuring proper storage of equipment (following photo guide)
- Communicate with church bookings staff and Nursery School Director if storage space is unclean or supplies are missing

Programming

- Alternate with other lead staff providing an engaging Junior or Senior circle time each day.
- Engage with children and follow their interests with programming needs
- Share photos and documentation using the Lillio app with parents.
- Alternate with other lead staff providing a song/storytime each day to build language skills, promote empathy, engage with each other and gain knowledge of their world.

Snack Preparation

- Purchase and store snack supplies accordingly
- Maintain a Safe Food Handlers Certification

Cleaning & Maintenance

- Ensure all toys and equipment are cleaned after use
- Maintain clean and organized classrooms and shared spaces in partnership with co-lead
- Tidy sensory areas (sweep floors, wipe countertops)




- Return all borrowed materials to proper storage
- Weekly laundry of cloths and towels
- Coordinate with the Director for any shared-space needs

Storage & Inventory

- Keep storage closets organized and inventory well-maintained
- Ensure materials and equipment are put away before other groups use the space
- Report broken/items that need to be replaced to Director
- Last Friday of every month put away and organize items that have been out for the month.

Professional Development

- Participate in at least 1 hour/month of CPL to maintain compliance with CECE
- Stay informed about current best practices in early childhood education and Christian curriculum

Additional Employment Information

- 3-month probationary period with performance evaluation
- Attendance at Steering Committee meetings is required

- Staff are required to notify the Steering Committee by May 31 regarding intent to return for the following school year

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 26.0 per week
