Job Summary
Wellesley and District Cooperative Preschool is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to create a nurturing and engaging play-based learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, classroom experience, and a passion for early childhood education. This role involves a collaborative approach to planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, fostering social-emotional growth, and supporting children’s individual needs to promote their overall well-being and learning progress.

Qualifications:
Must be a registered Early Childhood Educator and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
- Preferably Minimum 2 years of experience working with children (ages 2–5)
- First Aid and Level C CPR
- Must obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment
- Knowledge of childcare licensing regulations
- Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate, play-based programs
Duties
- Collaborate with classroom educators to plan and implement a play-based program
- Collaborate with classroom educators and support staff to meet each child’s individual needs, strengths, interests, and developmental stages
- Lead activities such as storytelling, singing, and local outings
- Observe, document, and discuss children’s progress and development
- Attend staff meetings to share insights and address concerns
- Plan and maintain an environment that supports the health, safety, and well-being of all children
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with families,
reflecting the cooperative nature of the program
- Follow all policies, procedures, and licensing requirements
- Complete additional duties as assigned by the ECE Supervisor
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and social interaction
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment following health and safety regulations
- Participate in ongoing career development
Requirements
- Proven experience (preferably 2 years), working with children ages 2-5 years in an educational or childcare setting, including classroom management skills
- Knowledge and the ability to comply with all licensing requirements
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written—to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
- Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate, play based programs
- Organizational skills to manage lesson plans, documentation, and classroom resources efficiently

Core Work Hours Tuesday-Friday 8:00am-12:00pm plus 4hrs per week for planning, documentation and prep time.
This position will be a 10 month contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $24.40-$28.00 per hour
