About KindHavn
KindHavn is a boutique private home care service in Calgary, built around one idea: families should not have to manage the care themselves. We provide consistent caregivers, real care plans, and a coordinator families can reach directly when something changes. We are deliberately small so the work stays personal and the standard stays high.
The role
We are looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to lead care planning for our clients and deliver both RN- and HCA-level care as each client's needs require. You will assess recent clients, build the care plan that guides everything our team does for them, and provide the clinical judgment behind that plan as it's reviewed and adjusted over time. Day to day, that can mean hands-on personal care and companionship just as often as medication management or a health status check — whatever the client in front of you actually needs.
This is not a roster rotation position. At KindHavn, caregivers are matched to clients and stay with them. You will get to know your clients well, and that continuity is the point.
What you will be doing
- Assessing new clients and building individualized, thorough care plans based on their needs
- Reviewing and adjusting care plans as client conditions change, and briefing the caregiving team accordingly
- Providing RN-scope care — medication management, health monitoring, wound care — as the care plan requires
- Providing HCA-scope care — personal care, bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility and transfer assistance — as the care plan requires
- Meal preparation and light housekeeping when part of a client's plan
- Companionship and emotional support
- Documenting care notes and reporting changes in client condition to the coordinator
- Acting as a clinical resource for the caregiving team on complex or changing cases
- Maintaining professional conduct and upholding client dignity at all times
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, in good standing with CRNA (College of Registered Nurses of Alberta)
- Experience conducting client assessments and developing individualized care plans
- Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last 6 months, or willingness to obtain prior to first shift
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle with valid insurance
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including lifting, transfers, and extended periods of activity
Assets
- Experience in home care, long-term care, or hospital settings
- Experience with seniors, dementia care, palliative care, or postpartum support
- Comfort working across both RN and HCA scope within a single shift
- Comfort with mobile care documentation
What KindHavn offers
- Consistent clients and consistent hours, not a different home every shift
- A coordinator you can actually reach when something comes up
- Ownership of the care plan from assessment through to delivery
- Competitive compensation paid on a T4 employment basis
- WCB coverage
- Part-time and full-time schedules available
- A professional environment that treats caregivers as the standard-setters they are
