Fresh Start Recovery Centre - has an opening for a Relief Kitchen Worker in our Lethbridge locations.

The Kitchen

Worker will be responsible for food preparation, quality and presentation which meets our standards. Maintain a clean safe working environment as per occupational health & safety standards (e.g., WHIMIS labels, food handling and storage, hygiene etc.). Perform kitchen opening and closing duties as required. Report any concerns, incidents, losses or damages to the Kitchen Manager or the Operations Manager .

The Kitchen Worker should be mature, knowledgeable, and experienced and would benefit from having experience in recovery and having a working knowledge of the disease concept and 12-step programming.

Relief Kitchen Worker

Pay: $20.00–$22.00 per hour

Schedule: Eight-hour morning and day shifts

About the role

Fresh Start Recovery Centre is seeking a reliable Relief Kitchen Worker to support our Lethbridge locations. This position is responsible for preparing and presenting food that meets our quality standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.

Experience working in a recovery setting, along with an understanding of the disease concept of addiction and 12-step programming, would be an asset.

Key responsibilities





- Prepare and present food according to established standards.
- Follow safe food handling, storage, and hygiene practices.
- Maintain a clean and secure kitchen, including proper WHMIS labelling and use of personal protective equipment.
- Complete kitchen opening and closing duties as required.
- Report concerns, incidents, losses, or damage to the Kitchen Manager or Director of Operations.
- Work independently and collaboratively to support daily kitchen operations.

Qualifications
- Previous hospitality experience.
- Food safety certification, such as FoodSafe, SafeCheck, Food Handler, or an equivalent.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices and appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- At least 18 years of age and eligible to work in Canada.
- Ability to reliably commute to our Lethbridge locations.

Documents required at the interview
- Police information check, including a vulnerable sector check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Driver’s abstract.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
