Description The Alberta Children's Hospital Research Institute in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Coordinator . This Part time Fixed Term position is for approximately 6 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, with day-to-day direction provided by the Research Program Manager. The Research Coordinator will be (three days per week) responsible for supporting and coordinating a portfolio of projects focused on immunization research around immunization confidence, uptake, immunization education research and evaluation as well as pediatric infectious disease surveillance and research in the clinical as well as public health realms.

Very occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support research activities, participant visits, project deadlines, or stakeholder meetings. The position is based at the Alberta Children's Hospital.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

Research Coordination

- Coordinate day-to-day operational activities for clinical research studies, surveillance projects, and program evaluation initiatives
- Develop and maintain study tracking tools, project timelines, and operational workflows
- Monitor project milestones and deliverables to ensure studies remain on schedule
- Identify operational challenges and implement solutions in consultation with investigators and the Research & Evaluation Program Manager

Participant Recruitment and Study Implementation
- Coordinate participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, informed consent, scheduling, retention, and follow-up activities
- Maintain communication with participants and families throughout study participation

Regulatory and Ethics Compliance
- Prepare and submit research ethics applications, amendments, renewals, deviations, and closure reports
- Maintain regulatory and essential study documentation
- Ensure compliance with University of Calgary, Alberta Health Services, sponsor, Health Canada, and ICH-GCP requirements

Data Collection and Quality Management
- Coordinate collection, entry, verification, and management of study data
- Conduct data quality assurance activities and maintain accurate research records
- Support preparation of reports, presentations, and knowledge translation products

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Serve as a liaison between investigators, healthcare providers, participants, community partners, sponsors, and regulatory bodies
- Organize and coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and follow up on action items
- Support stakeholder engagement activities to promote collaboration and achievement of project objectives

Financial and Administrative Support
- Assist with study budgets, purchasing, expense tracking, invoicing, and financial documentation




- Monitor project expenditures and support reporting requirements
- Coordinate contracts, agreements, and administrative documentation as required

Qualifications / Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Biological Sciences, Epidemiology, Nursing, or a related discipline
- Minimum 1-3 years of related experience in clinical research, health research, public health research, or project coordination
- Experience coordinating clinical research studies, vaccine studies, surveillance projects, or healthcare-related initiatives is preferred
- Knowledge of University of Calgary research processes and procedures, including research ethics, Alberta Health Services operational approvals, contracts, agreements, and financial administration
- Completion of CITI, ICH-GCP, TCPS2 (CORE-2022), and Health Canada Division 5 training is preferred
- Experience working in pediatric health research, infectious diseases, immunization, vaccines, or public health is considered an asset
- Experience engaging patients, families, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders in research is considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, REDCap, and electronic research documentation systems
- Familiarity with Connect Care, IRISS, Researcher Information Services, and PeopleSoft/eFin is considered an asset
- Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and up-to-date immunization records required
