Job Summary
We are looking for a Robotics & Engineering Project Instructor to teach small-group classes and mentor students developing original engineering projects. Students will learn to design, build, program, test, and improve working robots and prototypes.
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging, hands-on classes in robotics, programming, and engineering design
- Guide students through the full project process, from identifying a problem to building, testing, improving, and presenting a solution
- Coach students preparing for VEX Robotics competitions
- Mentor students working on Science Fair projects, including research plans, testing, data collection, documentation, and presentations
- Help students understand relevant ISEF rules and the pathway through ISEF-affiliated science fairs
- Encourage students to develop their own ideas and carry out their own work
- Qualifications
- Background in robotics, mechatronics, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field
Experience with CAD, 3D printing, motors, sensors,
and microcontrollers is highly valued. Familiarity with ISEF rules and affiliated science fairs is preferred. Previous experience as an ISEF finalist or mentor is a strong asset.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, programming, and troubleshooting robots or engineering prototypes
- Ability to teach robotics programming, such as Python, C++, or VEXcode
- Experience participating in or coaching VEX Robotics competitions
- Experience mentoring student Science Fair or engineering projects
- Ability to explain technical ideas clearly and work well with school-age students
Pay: $60.00-$85.00 per hour
