Position Summary The Salvage Technician is responsible for retrieving, processing, and preparing recycled automotive parts for inventory, customer sales, and shipment. This role supports daily yard and warehouse operations by safely handling vehicles and parts, maintaining organized work areas, and contributing to an efficient team environment. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience and possible apprenticeship in the automotive trades.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove and retrieve automotive parts from vehicles using appropriate tools and protected work practices.
- Clean, inspect, and prepare parts for inventory, customer pickup, or shipment.
- Transport parts between the yard, warehouse, shipping/receiving area, and customer service counter as required.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment to move vehicles, parts, and materials safely and efficiently.
- Assist with organizing, stocking, and maintaining warehouse and yard inventory.
- Support general yard, warehouse, and shop operations to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
- Work collaboratively with team members and follow direction from supervisors and experienced technicians.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organization, and workplace safety.
- Demonstrate initiative and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (Graduated Licensing Program drivers are welcome to apply).
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and interest in automotive repair and vehicle systems.
- Ability to follow instructions, adapt to changing priorities, and complete tasks efficiently.
- Comfortable performing physical work in a shop, warehouse, and outdoor environment.
- Basic hand tools required. Candidates should be prepared to build and maintain their personal tool collection over time. Specialty tools and equipment are available on site when required for specific tasks.
- Forklift experience is considered an asset; training may be provided to suitable candidates.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
