Bracebridge

Pinestone Engineering Ltd. (PEL) is a locally owned Muskoka and Barrie-based consulting engineering firm providing professional engineering services to public and private sector clients, primarily in the municipal infrastructure and land development sectors.

As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking a Senior Professional Engineer / Project Manager to join our team in our Bracebridge office.

This is an opportunity to join a smaller consulting firm where senior staff are directly involved in the work, decisions are made locally, and experienced team members can have a meaningful impact on the company. The successful candidate will take ownership of projects and see them through the full lifecycle - from initial client discussions and preliminary design, through approvals and detailed design, to construction and completion.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for running their own portfolio of municipal and land development projects, with support from PEL engineering, technical and field staff as required.

We are looking for someone who can be assigned a project and confidently manage the technical work, client communication, approvals, schedule and budget with limited senior oversight, while still working closely with the principals and the broader PEL team.

Key Responsibilities:

· Independently manage municipal servicing and land development projects from concept through construction and completion

· Act as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, regulatory agencies, contractors and other consultants

· Prepare and review engineering designs, reports, calculations, drawings, contract documents and technical specifications

· Lead the design of grading, drainage, stormwater management, water distribution,

sanitary servicing and related site infrastructure

· Coordinate municipal approvals, agency submissions and responses to technical review comments

· Manage project schedules, budgets, scope and deliverables and provide timely communication to clients

· Coordinate and provide technical direction to junior engineers, technologists, CAD staff and field personnel

· Provide contract administration, construction review and technical support during construction as required

Qualifications & Requirements:

· Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario is required

· Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working as a civil designer and project manager

· Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects, clients, approvals, schedules and budgets

· Strong technical background in municipal servicing and/or land development design

· Private-sector consulting experience is strongly preferred, particularly in land development

· Experience with stormwater management, grading, water and sanitary servicing design is preferred

· Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, staff and approval agencies

· Valid Ontario driver's licence is required and access to a reliable vehicle to travel to various job sites.

Why Join PEL:

· Market-competitive salary based on relevant years of experience,

technical capability and project management responsibility

· Preference will be given to applicants with greater relevant experience, particularly in private-sector land development consulting

· The opportunity to work in a smaller, locally owned firm where you can have a direct impact on projects, clients and the future of the company

· Clear opportunity for professional growth, increased leadership responsibility and potential future ownership opportunities for the right candidate

· The ability to manage projects from preliminary planning and design through approvals, detailed design and construction - not just one isolated part of the process

· The opportunity to live and work in Muskoka while building a long-term professional career in one of Ontario's most desirable recreation and lifestyle regions

· Company profit sharing, health benefits and RRSP contributions, with support from an experienced team while maintaining autonomy over your own projects

Only those selected for the interview process will be notified / contacted.

If you are an experienced Professional Engineer who wants greater project ownership, direct client involvement and the opportunity to grow with a smaller consulting firm in Muskoka, we would like to hear from you.
