- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 13 months (with potential for extension or conversion to FTE)
- Pay Rate: C$80.00–C$90.00 / Hour (CAD)
- Shift / Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Job Summary As a member of the Finance PMO delivery team, the Senior Project Manager will be a seasoned expert delivering highly complex projects from end to end — including initiation, requirement gathering, design, construction, testing, implementation, and closure. The role works with minimal direction on complex projects, providing expert-level knowledge of project management principles, standards, and business consulting through considerable project delivery experience.
The Senior Project
Manager uses significant latitude to control projects, conduct status reviews, provide business guidance, identify any deviations to the project plan, and recommend corrective action to mitigate potential issues.
The Senior Project
Manager is also responsible for working with business leaders to establish meaningful and measurable benefits, and tracking the achievement of them throughout the project lifecycle. The role analyzes situations and data to prepare and deliver executive-level presentations to keep management informed of project status, changes, and milestone achievements. The role supports Finance regulatory projects across Controllership, Taxation, and Treasury lines of business/portfolios, with a particular emphasis on Tax. The candidate will be working closely with the stakeholder tax team, including the Global Head of Tax and senior directors, as well as stakeholders outside of Tax.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify risks to the project schedule and find ways to mitigate them; monitor milestones, ensuring they are completed according to timelines and budgets; execute a project plan that strikes the right balance between budget, time, and risk.
- Execute well on the tacticals of risk, plan, and budget management, while also embracing the challenge of problem-solving and being proactive on this front.
- Help internal partners make informed decisions about the development of programs, products,
and services; coach and mentor teams while working toward a common goal; negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary — matrix management will be a key skill given the myriad of stakeholders to engage and bring on board the journey.
- Develop trusted working relationships with senior business stakeholders and technology partners; engage senior leadership comfortably and effectively, while also managing and coaching more junior staff.
- Share ideas, build consensus, and write with impact; chair and run effective meetings with clear outcomes and next steps.

Preferred Skills
- PMP designation
- Experience delivering Tax compliance projects or regulatory initiatives (e.g., global e-invoicing solution)
Education Requirements
- Degree in a related field of study (required)
- Education and professional credential checks are required for this role
Required Experience
- Up to 10 years of experience in Project Management
- 10 years of deep understanding of the practices, procedures, and principles required to successfully deliver large projects, from planning to implementation
- 10 years of ability to analyze detailed concepts, quickly resolve project issues, and assess the advantages and disadvantages of solutions
- Up to 10 years of experience delivering regulatory projects for a large bank in any Finance area such as Controllership, Tax, or Treasury
