We are seeking an energetic and personable Server to join our vibrant hospitality team. In this dynamic role, you will be the face of our establishment, creating memorable experiences for guests through exceptional service. Your enthusiasm, attention to detail, and ability to multitask will contribute to a lively atmosphere where guests feel welcomed and valued.

Objective: To act as ambassador to Nuba and direct the experience of each dine in guest from entry to exit.

Summary: Servers take orders for and deliver food and beverage, and ensure the quality of the food and overall guest experience is excellent. Servers are responsible for all billing and payment processing.

Reports to: Front of House Manager

Responsibilities

- Prepare tables for meals according to restaurant mise en place standards.
- Ensuring the right atmosphere is set.
- Creating a personal experience for the guest throughout service.
- Greet guests in a professional manner and provide knowledge and guidance about the food and beverage menus, how menu items are prepared, the ingredients used and the different cooking methods.
- Being aware of the guest's dining experience and mood and providing what is needed to create the perfect Nuba experience.
- Communicate any allergies or dietary restrictions clearly to the kitchen.
- Inform guests of daily food and beverage features.
- Check food and beverages for quality and presentation before serving them.
- Communicate with other members of staff, including bartenders, hosts, and expediters, to ensure a smooth service experience for the guest.
- Serve food and beverage to guests.
- Making drinks when bartender or barista is not available.
- Ensure guests have all necessary cutlery and accessories.
- Use sales techniques to increase revenues from food and beverage items.
- Check identification to ensure that guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Clear dishes from the table once guests are finished with them.
- Provide wine, beer, and cocktail recommendations to guests.
- Perform wine service using proper corkage and pouring techniques.
- Receive guest payments and process transactions.
- Clear, clean,



and reset tables promptly according to restaurant standards.
- Complete side duties during and after service, including polishing cutlery, setting up and taking down the restaurant, spot cleaning the floor, polishing glassware, cleaning billfolds, stocking bus stations, and any other duties assigned by the manager.
- Preparing room after service for next shift.
- Stay up-to-date with company memorandums, items in and out of stock, and changing seasonal features.

Main Responsibilities and Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Customer Service: Servers must consistently be able to assess, anticipate and meet guests’ needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from guests’ dining experience. This requires practical knowledge of industry customer service standards.

Communication: Servers must clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management. They must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when needing more direction.

Interpersonal Relationships: A server must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus. Extreme familiarity or conflicts with coworkers often weaken a team-oriented work environment.

Sales Techniques and Customer Influence: Must understand products and services and understand customer needs clearly. Must gain experience and become current in state-of-the-art sales methods. Must meet sales goals.

Performing General Physical Activities: Servers must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling of materials. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to carry trays filled with multiple dishes and drinks.

Problem Solving and Conflict Management:



Must recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure.

Time Management Skills: Servers must utilize methods and organization techniques in a fast-paced environment to ensure efficiency and respect the time of others. Servers must be able to delegate to others, such as bussers and managers, to maximize efficiency, team work, and the guest experience.

Analytical Skills: Must use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for a successful outcome. Must verify information by compiling, coding and calculating data.

Technical Skills: Must know or quickly learn general accounting and mathematical skills. Must correctly operate various devices such as POS computers, handheld card processor, and espresso machine.

Language Skills: Must speak and write with excellent command of the English language including proper spelling and grammar.

Flexibility: Must assist the workload of others.

Responsibility: Must cover own shifts when seeking a day off, due to sickness or any other reason; must accept that all shift trades are subject to approval or rejection by a manager.

Experience:

- Previous restaurant or food industry experience is required, especially in serving or bartending roles
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables or bar orders efficiently during busy periods
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding customer service in a quick-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is essential
