Maxam Metal Products is established as a trusted and reliable name in the construction industry since 1970. During these years we have worked directly with Architects, Engineers, Construction Companies and end users to provide for their needs.
We are currently hiring a Service Operations Coordinator to join our production team, which will include membership in the local union.
Hours – 1st shift Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Pay Range: CA$26 - CA$30/hr DOE
POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for coordinating daily shipping and receiving activities, communicating with customers to arrange product deliveries, providing front-line customer service, and supporting the sales team with quoting, order processing and general administrative duties.
Specific Responsibilities:
- This position requires someone who is approachable, professional, highly organized, and comfortable working with computers and ERP systems
- Able to adapt quickly as priorities change throughout the day.
- Understand the importance of providing excellent customer experience.
- Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure products are delivered accurately and on schedule.
- Contact customers to coordinate deliveries, confirm timing, and communicate any changes or special requirements.
- Work closely with warehouse, shipping, sales, and other internal team members to keep orders and deliveries moving efficiently.
- Monitor outstanding orders and deliveries and proactively follow up when required.
- Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and delivery information within the company ERP system.
- Help resolve delivery or order issues quickly and professionally
- Answer incoming calls and assist customers with product, order, delivery, pricing, and general inquiries.
- Assist walk-in customers at our facility and provide welcoming and professional experience.
- Follow through on customer requests and ensure commitments are communicated and completed.
- Build positive relationships with customers through friendly, knowledgeable, and dependable service.
- Prepare and process customer quotes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with order entry, pricing, product availability, and customer account information.
- Maintain accurate customer, quote, order, and sales information within the ERP system.
- Help ensure customers receive timely responses throughout the quoting, ordering, and delivery process.
- Understanding that customer service is at the forefront of everything we do. They will communicate clearly, follow through on commitments, keep customers informed, and help ensure every interaction with our company is professional and positive.
- Key link between our customers, sales team, and operations team—helping turn quotes into orders, orders into successful deliveries, and customer inquiries into positive experiences.
- Someone the team can rely on to stay organized, communicate effectively, anticipate what needs to happen next, and keep daily shipping, receiving, sales support, and customer requests moving smoothly.
Special Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

- Strong computer skills and the ability to confidently learn and use our ERP system.
- Experience with customer service, sales support, order entry, quoting, shipping/receiving, or logistics.

- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to remain organized when priorities change.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of tasks from start to finish.
- The ability to work effectively with customers, sales representatives, warehouse staff, drivers, and management.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related field.
Physical Requirements: Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
Work Conditions:
This position requires the incumbent to experience periods of prolonged sitting and regularly stand, walk, carry, reach, and lift up to 15 lbs in an office and manufacturing environment.
