Shift Leader

4 shifts per week, up to 5 in peak season

$19.00/hr plus tips, increasing to $19.50/hr after successful completion of probation

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced, dependable Shift Leader to help run day-to-day café operations. You'll lead shifts, train and coach staff, and set the standard for drink quality, cleanliness, and customer service. With small teams of two to three on each shift, you'll play a key role in keeping our standards consistent.

Responsibilities

- Lead shifts as a key holder, including opening and closing duties
- Train new team members on café procedures, customer service, and drink preparation
- Lead latte art training and maintain drink quality standards across the team
- Uphold food safety, sanitation, and deep cleaning standards
- Deliver warm, consistent customer service and resolve customer concerns
- Monitor ingredient levels and notify the bakers or Operations Manager when stock is low




- Complete merchandise inventory counts
- Assist with social media content
- Provide coaching and verbal warnings to team members, and document each conversation using our internal reporting form

Requirements
- FOODSAFE Level 1 certification
- 1+ year of barista experience, with confident latte art skills
- Previous supervisory or shift lead experience
- Availability for 4 shifts per week, including weekends, with flexibility for additional shifts during busy seasons
- Strong communication skills and comfort giving constructive feedback
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
- must be available for the following shifts: 2-10pm & 10am-6pm.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 – 35.0 per week
