Position Summary The RV Shop Foreman is a key member of CanaDream's Service team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service shop while providing hands-on technical leadership. Reporting directly to the Station Manager, the RV Shop Foreman ensures the efficient maintenance, repair, and preparation of CanaDream's rental and sales fleet while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

In this role, the RV Shop Foreman supports technicians, helps coordinate workflow within the shop, assists in prioritizing work, and provides technical guidance on complex repairs when needed. As a working leader, the Shop Foreman performs inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, propane, appliance, and automotive components, while ensuring repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.

The RV Shop Foreman is also responsible for monitoring shop inventory, managing parts and materials, maintaining service records, and helping ensure the shop remains organized, safe, and operationally effective. Working closely with Service, Operations, Parts, and Sales teams, this position plays a critical role in ensuring units are repaired, maintained, and ready for guest rentals and customer deliveries.

This role is ideal for an experienced RV or automotive professional with strong technical skills, a collaborative approach, and a willingness to support and mentor fellow technicians.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

- Utilize testing equipment, troubleshooting techniques, manufacturers’ specifications, and internet resources to diagnose and repair faults efficiently.
- Disassemble, inspect, and identify necessary parts, then reassemble components to meet factory specifications.
- Acts as a senior technical resource within the shop, helping coordinate workflow, provide technical guidance, and support daily operations.
- Supports the development of Shop Helpers and Technicians through coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and promoting best practices
- Conduct operational tests on engines, including road testing vehicles to ensure proper functionality.
- Identify and process warranty claims, coordinating necessary repairs to meet warranty standards.
- Assist guests with on-road issues, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure their safety and satisfaction.
- Install various RV accessories, ensuring proper fit and functionality.
- Deliver comprehensive and continuous guest and customer service, addressing their needs from the initial contact through to completion, with ongoing support for the entire duration of their RV ownership.




- Maintain a safe and organized work area for guests, customers, and fellow team members, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections on guest RVs, ensuring all systems are operational and meet quality standards.
- Execute duties with minimal supervision, demonstrating reliability and self-motivation.
- Uphold a safe working environment by adhering to occupational health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment, contributing to a cohesive and productive workplace.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, manufacturers, guests, and customers to ensure repairs are completed in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Accurately complete work orders and timecards, ensuring all documentation is precise and up to date.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist wherever needed.
- Promote a positive and collaborative team environment by supporting effective communication, assisting with team development initiatives, and helping resolve day-to-day workplace concerns when required.

Skill Set, Education and Experience

- Certification: RV Technician certification is preferred. Candidates with equivalent experience in the RV, automotive, marine, heavy equipment, or related industries will also be considered.
- Leadership Experience: Previous experience mentoring, training, coordinating, or providing guidance to technicians in a service, maintenance, or repair environment is preferred.
- Driver's Licence: Valid driver's licence with a driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
- Propane Certification: LP Gas certification is an asset. Must be willing and able to obtain required propane certifications.
- Technical Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining RV systems, including propane, plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, water systems, appliances, slide mechanisms, and related components.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting abilities with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Shop Operations: Experience coordinating workflow, prioritizing repairs, managing shop productivity, and ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Inventory Management: Experience overseeing parts inventory, materials, stock control, and coordinating parts requirements to support service operations.
- Quality and Safety Focus: Strong commitment to quality workmanship, operational excellence, and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Safety-Conscious Attitude: Demonstrates a commitment to workplace safety by following established procedures, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), and promoting safe work practices among team members.
- Customer Focus: Ability to deliver exceptional service while balancing operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of RV products, systems, components, and manufacturer specifications.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members, management, vendors, guests, and customers.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Ability to train, coach,



and develop technicians and shop helpers while fostering a positive team environment.
- Organization and Planning: Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail.
- Technical Documentation: Ability to read and interpret service manuals, diagrams, schematics, technical specifications, and manufacturer documentation.
- Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency with work order systems, inventory systems, email, and basic computer applications.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions and resolve issues efficiently.

Working Conditions

- Employment Type: Full-time Permanent
- Physical Requirements: Must have the physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Shift Work: The role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including early morning starts, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Overtime: Overtime may be required
- Physical Demands: The work is physically demanding and involves performing repetitive tasks. Employees will need to bend, crouch, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Safety Equipment: The use of safety equipment is mandatory. This includes wearing steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses or goggles, and other protective gear as required.
